About Us

Trading of piglets for production of slaughtering pigs is the largest activity in the company. With 1.7 million traded piglets, we are one of the largest actors on the market. DTL A/Sis selling about 500.000 piglets for exports. Danish piglets are of a very uniform quality -there is solely one genetic source in Denmark, DanAvl, and the combination of a LY hybrid sow and a Danish Duroc boar has shown to be superior with regard to fertility, daily weight gain and robustness against diseases. We aim to establish the same close relationship between piglet producers in Denmark and producers of slaughtering pigs abroad, as we are familiar with in Denmark. The development goes well, more than 40% of our export is now as permanent agreements, and it is certain, that we will experience a more secure and more profitable production of slaughtering pigs with these kinds of permanent agreements.
